IS THE BRITISH SIS TRAINING ISLAMIC EXTREMISTS?

Jan. 24 (LPAC)--The news of British involvement in training and
recruiting Islamic extremists is pouring in. After it was finally
acknowledged that failed suicide bomber Abdulmuttalab--who tried
to blow up an aircraft that was landing at the Detroit Airport on
Christmas Day--was recruited by "al-Qaeda" in London, the Sunday
Times reported Jan. 24 that almost a dozen young British Muslims,
including a female medical researcher, have recently joined
Al-Shabaab, an extremist organization blamed for hundreds of
deaths in Somalia.
Somali community leaders in the UK say students from the
London School of Economics, Imperial College, and King's College
London are among those who have been recruited within the past
year. The youngest recruit is believed to be 18. An investigation
by the Sunday Times into the terrorist pipeline to Somalia
substantiates claims that Britain has become a fertile breeding
ground for al-Qaeda. Al-Shabaab--Arabic for the Youth--wants to
impose sharia across Somalia.
Al Shabaab has been proscribed by most western countries,
including the United States and Australia. As usual, the
Blair-Brown duo have kept it operating in Britain.
Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed, a moderate religious leader from North
London, warned this weekend that Al-Shabaab is exploiting a
loophole to recruit youths in the capital. Although many of them
were born in Somalia, they have grown up in the UK and are
British subjects. What he did not say, however, is that these
extremists are protected and used by the SIS (MI6). [RMA]
